Affording a Doula: 5 Tips to Make it Work

When it comes to hiring a doula, we know the upfront investment can look intimidating, and we know it’s been a hard year financially for a lot of people. That’s why we came up with a list of ways to help you budget for a doula!

1. register for support with be her village

We love a good baby registry! Be Her Village happens to be our favorite for lots of reasons, but one of the biggest is that you can register for the gift of support. Childbirth classes, birth doula, postpartum support, you name it. You can even add a button that indicates that an item is an essential on your list!

Add us to your registry at: behervillage.com/partners/birthfortworth

2. Payment Plans

Not all doulas offer payment plans, but we sure do! Want to pay half now, half later? We’re cool with that. How about monthly payments? Yup, we can do that too. Small payment here, large one over here? Fantastic! We know that life is hectic and that you’re planning for a whole new human being, chat with our practice administrator Barb and she’ll get you all set up!

3. Holiday Gift or Gift Certificate

What does the couple that’s having a baby ask for for the holidays? Perhaps a gift certificate for doulaservices (any of them)!

4. Ask Your Insurance/Use your FSA or HSA

Sometimes you can get partial or even all of our services covered by your insurance company or Health Savings/Flex Spending Accounts. We’ll provide you with all the paperwork from our side. Hey, it doesn’t hurt to try!

5: Medicaid Discount

Did you know birth | Fort Worth offers an extensive discount to our clients who are utilizing Medicaid? Shoot us a message for more information, but do it quick! There are only so many spots available!
